Standing Water In Potomac MD Yard

Are you suddenly noticing standing water in your Potomac MD, yard? It’s a more common problem than you might think, and something we deal with on behalf of our clients on a fairly regular basis. We’ve been in the business since 1979, and in that time, have fielded thousands of questions on that very topic. We’ll post a few of them below, along with their answers.

Q: I’m on a budget and don’t know if I can afford to fix my drainage issue. Can you help?

A: The short answer is yes. Before we begin, we’ll professionally asses your needs and give you an estimate so you know exactly what it will take to get rid of the standing water in your Potomac, MD yard. If you’re comfortable with our estimate and it fits your budget, we can proceed.

The other part of the answer though, is that depending on where the water is collecting, it might be an issue that you can’t afford not to fix it. That’s true in cases where you’ve got water collecting very close to your home. If left unchecked, it can cause problems that will take tens of thousands of dollars to repair.

Q: I’ve already got a French Drain on my property. Why am I suddenly having drainage issues and seeing standing water in my Potomac, MD yard?

A: French drains are a common and effective means of diverting water away from your property, but they do sometimes require maintenance to keep them functioning properly. The most common problem is that they can become clogged, so the fix for your standing water issue might be as simple as giving your French drain a good cleaning to make sure water can flow down the channel without impediment.

Q: I’ve done a bit of DIY landscaping, adding raised beds and the like to my lawn. Not long after, I started noticing standing water in my Potomac, MD yard. Are they related?

A: Possibly, yes. Remember that water follows two basic rules: It flows downhill, and it always follows the path of least resistance. If your newly installed landscaping has created an obstruction, it could be what’s causing the water to build up and create standing pools in certain areas of your lawn.

We’ve got a Senior Geotechnical Engineer on staff who can properly assess your situation and determine if your landscaping efforts have contributed to the problem, and if so, design a solution to divert the water elsewhere.

Didn’t see your question on the list above? Not a problem. Just give us a call today and we’ll be happy to answer any questions you might have, and work with you to solve whatever drainage issues you might have.

Angies List Super Service Awared 2013

They did a retaining wall. It's perfect. They showed up when they said they were going to and finished the job up nicely. I hadn't worked with them before...I have some jobs in the works, and I plan on reusing them...I would call on them again...
